Assises du NewSpace: Astreos takes on French ecosystem momentum
These are exciting times for #NewSpace in the world and #France doesn't fall short! As the first exhibit of Les #AssisesNewSpace took place last week in Paris, let's take a few steps back to appreciate key learnings our team at Astreos gathered while attending:
French NewSpace is whole
The #startups attending represented a mostly young and complementary ecosystem as several local actors cover now all segments of the satellite development cycle. From #SmallSats manufacturers to #microlaunchers, components, softwares and launch hardware such as deployers, every bits and part are available right on the French NewSpace market. We also noticed the presence of specialized legal aspects advisors and #SpaceSituationAwareness companies, which are essential support to such ventures. We are passionate about #space and feel lucky to be a part of this flourishing ecosystem.
Strong public authorities interest
many officials from French ministries, military bodies and public institutions such as CNES attended the exhibit and showed great interest in all activities presented. This should turn into even more interesting and tangible projects opportunities strenghtening our local ecosystem. As a complement, private investors were also attending sharing valuable views and experience on building NewSpace startups.
Make room for #cybersecurity
The awareness and concerns with regards to cybersecurity is clearly rising among the French NewSpace community. This was confirmed by the presence of companies and startups showcasing interesting products and services to implement on future #satellites. By the way, an event called #CybersecForum will be dedicated to these matters in April 2023, in the very same Station F.
A need for global #advising
As we mentioned before, all the #SatelliteDevelopment bricks are now available on the market and many projects sponsor expressed a need for complete advising through the whole cycle. Relying on such advising, they can focus on their payload and the revenues while our team at Astreos can offer time and cost-control for their benefit. Thus the community members showed much interest for our systemic vision delivering advising #FromIdeaToData. We definitely want to be the team offering such a service as we have partnerships and contacts to coordinate and manage members of the ecosystem together.
Mix and match
Throughout our multiple encounters and discussions, we noticed many actors in the French NewSpace ecosystem haven't had a chance to interact with each other yet. We believe this is ground for untapped opportunities on the market and we intend to use our #Matchmaking abilities to strengthen emulation between actors. By enabling ideas exchanges between organizations, we could all benefit from new business opportunities and #innovation.
In a word, we believe this first edition of Les Assises du NewSpace was really worth attending and Astreos team would like to thank #AllianceNewSpaceFrance for making it happen. We are delighted so many ambitious projects are being imagined and carried on by #Spacepreneurs in France right now. The perspectives for our local ecosystem are amazing and we'd love to actively contribute to its growth on the world stage.
